I first fell in love with the Singapura breed when I was persuaded by a friend to attend a cat show in Glasgow. Walking round the hall looking at the different breeds, I saw this beautiful kitten. I asked the owner a bit about the breed and its' background. From the look on my face my friend said to me this is your kind of cat. I had fallen in love so I asked about a kitten but was told
at that time there was
a waiting list which meant it would possibly be about two
years before I could have one. Two years later I got a call
from the breeder, saying she had a little girl for me. I named
her Kita. I began showing with Kita and she did really well,
gaining her merits and her intermediate certificates.
One of the shows I entered Kita in had Egyptian Mau
kittens on exhibition. Again I took one look and was
head over heels but like the Singapuras there was a
waiting list. This time it wasn't so long to wait as a
friends daughter was breeding Egyptian Maus. I
travelled down to England to collect my silver girl
who I named Ria and guess what, I came back with
a smoke girl also, called Kairo.
